Local historian Edwin Henderson will give a talk on how the land of prominent Falls Church African Americans was seized for the construction of Lee Highway in the early twentieth century. Using old land records and maps, Henderson will paint a picture of Falls Church’s African American community at the turn of the century and describe how Falls Church’s use of eminent domain affected the community.
