Join the Tinner Hill Heritage Foundation and the Social Justice Committee of Falls Church and Vicinity on Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2019 for a commemorative march and program.
The march will begin at the Tinner Hill Civil Rights Monument (at the corner of Lee Highway and Tinner Hill Road), with the lineup at 12:30 PM and the step-off at 1:00 PM. The march will proceed due east along Lee Highway (officially S. Washington St. in Falls Church City) and go approximately 3 ½ blocks to The Falls Church Episcopal, where a program will immediately follow.
At 11:30 AM, a “warming station” will open at Kiln and Kustard (455 S. Maple Ave.) with complimentary hot chocolate and warm beverages.
The commemorative program will be held from 1:30-3:30 PM at The Falls Church Episcopal at 166 East Broad Street in Falls Church, VA. Light refreshments will be provided and the program will feature songs and tributes to Dr. King as well as an address by Congressman Don Beyer.
